Fall is here, ring the bell

Back to School
Show and tell...

Well, I now have two little people in elementary school. Wild. Little Guy was lucky enough to get the same teacher that G had in Kindergarten, a gem of a lady, one of those special teachers that you will remember for a lifetime. He has the same TA, too, who used to carry Little L around in my sling for me on field trips when Little L was just a wee baby. It is nice having him go into a familiar classroom. He was a bit nervous about going to the big school , but put on a brave face and quietly crept on in. G still walks him to class, and will continue to do so until he is comfortable enough to wade through the 1000+ students there himself. She is SUCH a good big sister.

Little L started nursery school this week, also. She was a bit nervous once we got there, but has been looking forward to wearing her backpack and playing with her little friends all summer.

I am looking forward to a great school year, but am still sad about summer ending. I love the freedom of summertime.

This place is a zoo!

Last month, my good friend Jenny was kind enough to take me and my tribe along with her to Zoo Atlanta. LIttle L had never been to the zoo and I knew she would love it since she has a managerie of snall plastic animals that she likes to play with. Little Guy hadn't been to the zoo since he was a little over a year old, so it was new for him, too. We are so lucky to have mating panda bears here in Atlanta! The kids got to see the latest panda cub and her mama - so adorable! The other favorites of the day were the giraffes and the bush dogs - though Jenny and I are skeptical on whether the bush dog is actually just a cross between a coyote and a terrier.
